In the UK society, the amount of food has been wasted and transferred into landfill keep on rising, with many of the food are still editable or unsold food thrown by the retailers. The challenge of this project is how can we lower the waste of food from household and retailers in the UK. With the app “smarket’, this will encourage people to keep track on the date of the food and prevent any food passing the expiry date, also showing how much, they have saved from buying less food or nearly out of date discount food.
