Torsole: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are the most common serious knee injuries in sports that require the use of cleated boots. The injury usually occurs at the point of contact with the ground and when there is a sudden change in direction, causing a twisting action and the knee turning excessively inwards.
Torsole is a new technology aimed to reduce the number of ACL injuries in sports that require the use of cleated boots. The technology consists of a mechanical system created in the midsole of the boot. Torsole allows for a torsion motion to occur about a pivot under the knuckle of the foot ultimately relieving stress on the ACL. Two compression springs placed in the heel section absorb the ground reaction force and also give that spring-back feel, ensuring the foot will return to its original position.
