Welcome to the The Faculty of Environment and Technology 2022 Virtual Degree show.
This is a project that has been developed through a cross media investigation of Bristol’s M32 as a cut within the urban landscape. Utilising techniques such as film making, installation and mapping a rigorous analysis of the Kill the Bill protest was undertaken. This examination uncovered how the cut played a role in both exacerbating the socio-economic divisions and acting as a platform for the people to voice their concerns. These discoveries of the cut went on to inform the architectural programme of a broadcasting centre. Questioning contemporary issues surrounding social media, data security and freedom of speech the programme aspires to redefine the institutionalisation of broadcasting centres through “giving a voice to the people”.
