Welcome to the The Faculty of Environment and Technology 2022 Virtual Degree show.
We need agriculture back in our cities and in our minds. With the disconnection to the origin of food, we lost an understanding of its importance. Over the years, industrialization has made farming incredibly efficient when it comes to the amount and profitability of food we produce. But it has made us all dependent on a system that only a handful of multinational cooperations can deliver. The gaps of the existing system are where Urban Agriculture can emerge in the hopes of creating a better system.
The purpose of the ‘Cubical’ Climate Change Institute is to educate, equip and empower the community - students, families and the Bristol Marina boat owners – in hopes of establishing local food production, promoting community-based social work and exchanges between people of different cultures, ages and backgrounds. This project could be a catalyst to reconnect ourselves with the lifecycle of our environment.
