Polar Opposites: In recent years a trend has emerged within snowboarding, more and more snowboarders are executing tricks with only one foot strapped in, but conventional binding systems are making these tricks difficult.
Polar opposites are a one of their kind binding system, specifically designed to make this trend more accessible within the sport, they assist snowboarders in accomplishing the next step into freestyle snowboarding. Designed with the reliability of conventional bindings in mind, Polar Opposites demonstrate a similar product architecture to the conventional systems, a solid feel and ride with a completely new function.
Two parts: One attached to the boot - One attached to the board.
This allows for the boot to release freely from the board, upon a quick release of the dual pin system. Specialised magnets used either side of the rider's ankle, help in correctly aligning the two parts back together, allowing the rider to re-engage.
This project aims to continue & improve snowboarding's legacy in freestyle, through innovation and homing in at its true culture.

Sphera aims to target the percentage of guests who do not have the ingredients or knowledge to create their own drinks at home and has the opportunity to develop a completely new bar service method. It is able to provide bar users with a unique insight into the world of mixology and enhance any brands marketing appearance by creating an exciting new social experience.

Gyre: Marine Debris is polluting our oceans and killing our wildlife. Research shows that reusing is more effective than recycling, and as a result, Gyre was designed to change people’s perceptions on reusing by providing an elegant dining experience whilst preventing disposable packaging being used.

Nook Redesign: As part of a project I did this year, we were approached by a company who design Nook Pods. Nook Pods are enclosures for working meeting, eating, relaxing. They are fully portable, wheeled and flat pack which makes them easy to put up and take down. They have mains power with USB sockets, lighting some small shelves. In my design, I wanted to make them more fun and vibrant, with the addition of plants to help add an outdoors environment for people to be around and also increase oxygen levels/work as air purifiers. I wanted to make the users feel like they are almost escaping, rather than an extension of their office.
Triarium: Bringing plants into our indoor environments is a great way of bringing green back into our lives and has been shown to help with many of the problems caused from being shut off from the natural world. However bringing plants indoors poses many challenges.
Triarium takes the chore out of caring for house plants, it makes it simple and easy for even the blackest of thumbs among us. The wick system prevents over watering & reduces under watering issues and releases nutrients slowly to the plant from the hydrogel reservoir.
The planter is designed to add value to interior spaces and to display plants to their fullest potential.

The Flavour Of Taste: Our busy lifestyles makes us prioritise aspects of our lives, the enjoyment of food and cooking has been pushed to the bottom of the pile. Research shows that the average young adult has a repertoire of four recipes that they can prepare themselves unassisted. I identified a need for a service to reignite a passion for food and cooking to get people excited about it again and to educate people about flavours and how they can be manipulated.
The Flavour of Taste is a personalised food experience using colour to illustrate different flavours. Users learn about themselves and what flavours they are more susceptible to. A graphic of this is calculated based on your responses through the app to the flavour samples. After the event, monthly flavour cards personal to your tastes will be delivered to your home along with ‘hero ingredients’ so that cooking can be quick and enjoyable.

ROOTS: An hourglass inspired root vegetable container which encourages end users to utilise their root vegetables to the full extent.
Food waste has risen to be one of the world’s biggest problems; it is a subject of environmental, economic and social concern. Most of us have adopted to make our planet to be more sustainable and it has integrated into our lifestyles.
Storing root vegetables in sand is not a new concept; vegetables are stored in among sand in root cellars by our forefathers. Vegetables are kept away from moisture and humidity is regulated when they are covered in sand, therefore, they don’t rot.
The beautiful hourglass inspired round shapes makes Roots stands out. It is a pleasant feeling whilst watching the stream of sand fall through the small filter holes onto your root vegetables. When Roots is rotated 180 degrees clockwise or anti-clockwise, a satisfying click sound is revealed to stop it rotating any further.
Roots will become a talking point of the home kitchen as a decoration and a root vegetable container.

Paw-Pad: is a folding cat carrier that has been designed to act as both a transport vessel for your cat and a stylish play area for inside the home.
Cat’s have grown and learnt to detest their carriers, as they know (through years of conditioning) that these cages mean solely one thing . . . a trip to the veterinarian.
It is this fear association with current cat carriers that makes containing our kitties such a stressful (and sometimes dangerous) task.
Most cats know to distrust their carriers because their owners hide them away when not in use, and only purpose them for one job, a job which our moggies hate!
Paw-Pad aims to change that. With a removable scratch mat surface, and the ability to transform into a flat platform or play tunnel, it’s the first carrier that makes a step toward easier vet journeys with your feline friend.

Heyra: 10% of UK adults suffer from tinnitus. With the rise in people attending music events, tinnitus is also on the rise.
Heyra has set itself the challenge to get more 16-30-year-olds to wear ear plugs while not affecting their enjoyment. The way Heyra has done this is by trying to engage the younger generation through creating hearing protection with a modern twist.
The Heyra ear plugs connect to the user's phone via Bluetooth, this allows the ear plugs to create so many more opportunities. The ear plugs have the option to hear calls that are coming through the user's phone and have the ability take in the sound levels of the venue. The ear plugs achieve this through a built-in microphone and speaker. The decibel intake is all neatly connected to an app that lets the user know how much damage is being caused and how many decibels they have taken in that day, week or month. We feel the Heyra ear plugs have all the right requirements to help prolong good hearing while not stopping the enjoyment of music and nightlife.

Torsole: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are the most common serious knee injuries in sports that require the use of cleated boots. The injury usually occurs at the point of contact with the ground and when there is a sudden change in direction, causing a twisting action and the knee turning excessively inwards.
Torsole is a new technology aimed to reduce the number of ACL injuries in sports that require the use of cleated boots. The technology consists of a mechanical system created in the midsole of the boot. Torsole allows for a torsion motion to occur about a pivot under the knuckle of the foot ultimately relieving stress on the ACL. Two compression springs placed in the heel section absorb the ground reaction force and also give that spring-back feel, ensuring the foot will return to its original position.

Reducing the transmission of blood-borne diseases amongst the intravenous drug using community:
My project named Nål aims to reduce the transmission of blood-borne diseases amongst the intravenous drug using community, prevent drug equipment from being reused and limiting exposed sharps on the street. Nål acts as packaging for the most common syringe used amongst intravenous drug users, that being the 1ml insulin syringe. This was a way to ensure a product that isn't intrusive and has the users’ best interest at its core. It works by a one-in/one-out system: a user inserts a dirty syringe and a clean syringe is ejected out the bottom, whilst simultaneously locking onto the old syringe and bending its tip to prevent re-use. Nål stores the old syringe within itself preventing exposed sharps from being on the street, keeping our streets hypodermic free.

Aurio: The development of the hearing aid has come a long way since the invention of brass ear trumpets but there is still a lot to be said about the devices of today. They are designed to be as discreet as possible thereby encouraging the user to hide their disability, this is difficult for those that require cochlear implants. Aurio was designed utilising Bluetooth technology and induction charging, removing the need for any wired components or troublesome battery packs.
Dealing with any form of disability can be difficult enough as a young child, judgment from other children can be particularly damaging. Aurio was designed to not only grant young users the ability to hear but to support and encourage them through a very difficult process of developing their speech and auditory skills.
The Aurio Phone case is utilised in situations where the companion figure is not suitable.

Paws & Claws: Through research, it was evident that children’s fine motor skills development are seriously declining when starting primary school. This, in turn, is affecting children's ability to develop oracy and literacy skills effectively.

Link Up: and Learn is an inclusive educational tool for children with and without autism providing a bridge to tackle segregation in classrooms and emotional development.
More children on the autism spectrum are attending mainstream schools. This means new ways of teaching must be adapted and more classroom activities need to enable all students to participate.
Link Up is a set of light up stacking blocks helping all children work together. Each block has whiteboard or blackboard material attached, with allocated space to slot in flash cards and other visual aids. Once a task or activity has been completed, the blocks can be stacked and light up as you build.
As well as using visual and practical learning, all children can use the emotion tracking app to reflect on their own feelings throughout the day and become more aware of people around them.
