‘Waste To Wearables’ aims to help curve capitalist consumerism habits through a range of facilities that will work alongside each other to create a circular garment movement. Key spaces that help to achieve this include a modular second hand/vintage marketplace and multiple hands-on textile workshops for public to repurpose their unused clothing. The scheme features a fully landscaped plan combatting a large change in level and centres around creating open, flexible spaces. The structures’ natural lighting and ventilation standards far exceed requirements to maximise the wellbeing of the user while using the interacting facilities to make a socially active and inviting atmosphere. The collection of spaces, interior and exterior, create an exploratory journey for both general public and consumers of the development’s facilities.
