TOURISM

REGENERATIING THE CUMBERLAND BASIN: ISLAND IN THE CITY

The Tourism industry is one that promotes unsustainable production and consumption. Since Covid, people have begun to find alternative ways to vacate. They instead search for experiences and retreats to detox from their busy lives. Eudemonia aims for tourists to learn how to promote their own health and wellbeing consciously through a series of sensory experiences. Mainly inspired by retreats, spas, and wellness centres. At a local place rather than travelling to find a retreat, people can learn how their local environments can have effects on their health and wellbeing and take this home to begin and continue practice. A place which can be rewilded with aspects of city nature as well as being regenerated into being used as a place for users to find their wellness and escape from their busy lives.
