The Urban Egg project is a building designed in response to the current challenges in global sustainability. Essentially, the urban egg project is a producer, caterer, and supplier, on egg production designed to sustain Bristol’s egg farming. The project creates the innovation to get hold of sustainable free range eggs, deliver service of daily fresh culinary, and build belonging to the urban farming community. The building is designed to create a self-sustaining cycle in egg production by farming its own eggs and providing the necessities for production like food for the hens and using innovative methods to do so like its greenhouse that collects rainwater efficiently through the rainwater collecting, vortex roof. The building, uses a bold design to portray its design language which reflects on taking a risky, innovative, bold step towards sustainability and setting the example for the future.
