The project was completed with my partner Hannah Parker, we were tasked with studying the mediations of the Watershed Bristol. We conducted LIDAR scans of the rooms that were significant to us. This is where our fascination with the 35mm projector came from. We looked over the scans and noticed the fragments within them and how this related to how the 35mm projector interacts with the screen. We constructed six screens from thin muslin and scrunched polyester tulle that would allow the interaction of the two projectors showing a film and an animation of the scan of the projector room. The middle represents the cinema screen and the outer singular frames that travel towards it, the scrunched tulle represents the fragments within the projection towards the cinema screen. This is fully immersive allowing visitors to walk between screens, disappearing within the projections themselves and becoming part of the fragmentation.
