Two of the largest factors surrounding healthy community integration are proximity to others and spoken language. Understanding these two led to the concept of the scheme and the title of the project – ‘Integration through Activity’.

The car is the current transportation trend which has made unique points of human interaction rarer over the years. There is a requirement for a revised transportation hierarchy which replaces the automobile with a more active, healthier, and safer option, the bicycle.

This project is the centrepiece of an urban redevelopment scheme that reconnects the ward of Lawrence Hill and provides a resource which energises the community. It’s set to be a new landmark that will become a hub for Lawrence Hill and a ‘destination’ for
