The architectural ambition of the Wellspring Institute is to provide an intuitive community space that enables digital connectivity and access to technology to what is considered a marginalised community.

It is the bringing forward of a new building typology that perpetuates the growth of social capital, while still accommodating an adaptable connection to our world’s liquid modernity.

Standing at the forefront for community development the Wellspring Institute will utilise digital innovation to cater for the deprived inner-city community of Barton Hill. Posing as a beacon, the building will actively bridge the physical and digital world and become inherent to the model of a modern sustainable community. Set to position residents first, the Wellspring Institute will harness technology to bring out the best of those who are currently positioned on the wrong side of the digital divide.
