The aim of the ‘Food for All’ project was to relieve the issues of food poverty within one of the most deprived areas of Bristol. This scheme was not only about the building but about its context looking out how we could envision the spaces around the building to create free food for all, this is where the creation of the ‘Edible boulevard came in. The building itself acts as a monument for the area, a beacon of community spirit, here the community can come and learn about growing their own food at home or in any free space, while also seeing how the food is produced in the building. The food is grown in using aeroponics vertically within the towers, this maximises the amount of food that can be produced on a small site. This food is then sold in the market and donated to those in food poverty.
